Nice stuff. Only thing I do differently, both because it seems more secure and I thought that it was done this way back in the day, is I put the two openings facing each other.

I was thinking of that to.. Do you "turn"the upper pocket?

BB, I'm afraid I don't savvy exactly what you mean in your question, sorry, but if it just might clarify things, I do it just as shown here with the only difference being that both sides are exact mirrors of each other with the open ends facing and the three sewn seams touching each other when the wallet is closed. Hope that helps.

Great wallet, I am having Gfeller Casemakers design me a quality one just like it!

Cheer up things could be worse, sure enough I cheered up and they got worse.

Althought this is not an early 1800's wallet I have used the pattern to make knife pouches for custom made folders.  They are made out of Plains Bison and lined with red velvet pigskin...I have sold alot of these through my custom knife maker...Jon Graham Custom Knives.

I like this pouch a lot, Outrider. The red lining and aging makes it look great. Thanks for the pics. Do you have a photo of the other side with it closed?
