Yes Dave, I have seen one of your wallets at James Country Mercantile in Liberty.   I do not know if it predated my pattern, or yours was the inspiration.   Either way, BB's is very similar.  Major, if you are looking to buy one, check out Dave's site.   For those of you wanting period money, search the NCOWS board.  I cleaned up some 1860s era Yankee currency, maybe reb too, can't remember.   Do a search and the photos are attached there.  If you have access to a color printer that will print front and back without changing the paper, you can make quite a bit quickly.

Did the search.  Here is the Yankee scrip

It was fine with me, it's not like I have a patent on it! It's not like you ordered one from me and then sent the pattern to Pakistan and had them copied like a well known company that deals in cowboy goods, just saying.

Boothill Bob

David. I found the photo at riverjunction and made a pattern from that..
Looked at your page now and saw that you have a similar..

That's not a problem, like I said, I don't have a patent on it!

well here is my attempt  :P

My hand stitching leaves a bit on the table.... I'm better with thicker holster leather  :-\

I'll add the strap when it is dry , the finish is Skidmores rubbed in ....

BHB your pattern is very much like an original.
This one is from around 1870's

Maj2, looks good. Notice how the stitching on the original is less than perfect. You don't need to worry, there.

fellas, you just gave me the ideas for my next little project! Loved seeing all ya'lls efforts, mine is definitely gonna be on the rustic side, mainly because all my skills leave a lot to be desired, lol! I love seeing what guys that know what they're doin got going on, it inspires me to try, and that's I guess what counts to me in the end.

Skill level doesn't matter much, BD. That can change. I only compare my work to my own work. In that, I strive to outdo myself. What does matter is the fun of doing the project. After all, that's what it's about anyway.  :D
