Just one look leaves no doubt as to the heritage of my Toro machine.  I just spotted this one and hope someone enjoys the heads up!

I know a saddler that has one, looks identical to that. My Cobra 4 is pretty much an exact copy.

Would this price be a good buy for anyone in the market on a limited budget?  I do not know what the used, or new, prices are running now days?

Cliff Fendley

I don't think the Juki is made any more. That is about the price of a new Cobra I think.

Also if the Juki isn't made any more I'd ask around about parts availability before buying it. Even though they are all copies of the Juki I don't think parts for the Cobra, Adler, Toro, Etc. will all fit.

The Adler is an entirly different animal...German made and is not a copy of the Juki 441.

Your right outrider, sorry my post made it sound that way. It's not an exact copy like the Cobra but there sure are a lot of similarities and some parts look like they should fit but dont. It's like running the same machine.

I think the Adler is probably the better machine. That thing is rock solid and smoooooooth. My buddy Gil Hibben has one but would rather use his Aerostitch. He just never has taken the time to get used to the Adler.

I definitely had no interest in another machine, shux, if I would just get busy and crate my Aero I would put it on Ebay.  As I have gotten older, the wife and I are actually talking about emptying the shop out and moving closer to the city.  It is so seldom that I ever feel a desire to go out to the shop anyway!  The sad part is that I am not in an area that has many leather workers to sell heavy equipment to.

I can't believe your friend would rather use the Aerostitch..... ???  The Adler is the Cadillac of these machines

Your right it is the Cadillac of sewing machines but it seldom gets used and collects dust. I sewed with it some a while back when I was helping during a knifemaking class.

His son is even using the Tippman now that he is doing a lot of the sheaths for him. The Tippman operates so different and I guess they are just used to it. A lot of his sheaths are real thick too and that doesn't even phase the Aerostitch so that may be part of it.

Good machine at a good price if you're looking for a Juki 441. You can also buy a new 441 clone for around the same price, warranty and tech support included.
