I have always found the Russian Tokarev to be an intesting looking pistol, and have long been interested in owning one.  Well, when I found a place selling Romanian ones for 200 bucks with a spare magazine, I knew I was finally gonna own one.  Today, it arrived in the mail, (you gotta love the C&R!) and I have to say that my interest in it was well placed.  It is a quite interesting pistol, fits my hand well, and I can't wait to start experimenting with handloads for it.

The only "drawback" I can say it has is how the lanyard loop presses into the heel of my hand and the safety digs into my index finger when held left handed.  As such, I may have to shoot this pistol with my weak hand.  But since I am sorta ambidextrous, that's not really a big deal.

Now all I gotta do is get one of those semi auto reproductions of the PPSh-41, and I'll have another "alternative" to the Thompson/1911.

Heh, still haven't gone to my first AZSA match and I'm already getting extra guns for it.  And I thought SASS was bad....

I currently have one for sale if anyone is interested. http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss359/mjn77/SN853488.jpg

Darn it...   I just ordered a new one...

But actually, given my living in Massachusetts, even though these things don't run afoul of our local AWB, I prefer to buy it from a dealer.

But man, that looks sweet!

the ballistics of the 7.62 X25 round is very impressive in fact so impressive I would highly consider carrying a Tokarev  as a defense weapon

I had one some years ago for concealed carry, as it is so very, very slim in cross-section. And boy that little bullet gets downrange fast!

I was loading the 110gr JHP for the 30carbine in my 7.62 x 25 for my carry pistol a few years back.   And made brass from .223 brass cut down.
