Guys, just saw this listed on Ebay and thought I would give a heads up.  I know nothing about the gun or its owner, beyond what is stated in the add.  Seems a bit high but??

I'm surprised to see that on Ebay, may not stay up long...

These 'parts sales'  have been allowed for a while now on Ebay and seems to be becoming a cottage industry.  People are buying the cap and ball pistols, mainly Piettas, breaking them down as two or three major parts assemblies and selling them.  It seems to be netting them  double or more the Cabelas price for a complete gun.  The parts assembly I posted here started at around $25 as best as I remember so how can one complain when the customers are setting the prices, CRAZY!

no kidding  Ebay ?   :-\

Geeez they were, anything gun was banned, but I degress I suppose.

Major, I think the truth is that they want money first and and hope their liberal supporters do not notice the change.  I promise that they have not changed their stripes.

i have a friend in the States that bought a mixed lot of Ruger Mk1 parts/stripped gunoff ebay a few years ago. The picture showed the complete gun in parts, but the ad said all parts except frame. When he opened the parcel, the whole shooting match was there!
All my cowboy gun's calibres start with a 4! It's gotta be big bore and whomp some!

ebay is one of the few places where the sum of the parts is worth more than the whole. I would guess that most of the buyers on there are not enthusiasts that folks like us are, or else they would know the true worth of the parts. Perhaps young people figuring they can cobble together a gun, not knowing that these guns don't shoot bullets like they get on the street.
