Shot the .45 colonial pistol the wife got me for Christmas this weekend. Hard to hit anything with it, but lot's of fun to shoot!

I think that it must be one of those 'jump on their back and stick it in the ear'  ;) type of guns!

Nice gun, bad hat, great woodpile!  ;D ;D ;D ;
All my cowboy gun's calibres start with a 4! It's gotta be big bore and whomp some!

Much wood, no snow.  White man wrong about cold winter?

Cool pistol.  Carry two for authenticity.

took it again out to my local range. After some time, I am able to hit the paper at least. Too many folks there to start workin up loads. But I did learn one thing that may be of benefit to others who might purchase one of these. Black powder is definitely preferable to pyrodex. Pyrodex seems to be harder to ignite, and sometimes there is a slight lag between the percussion cap discharging and the powder igniting. With Swiss, I did not experience any lag, and it went off every time. With pyrodex, there were a few loads where I had to fire a 2nd percussion cap in order for the gun to discharge.

I tried Pyrodex, 777 and a couple of others that I can't remember. Once I started shootin real BP I never went back. WM

Lol! This is up at my buddys place in East Texas. His only source of heat is a wood burning stove. It does get cold down here, but doesn't snow much, lol!
