Neck sizing?

I bought a 1876 in 45/60 in 1968.I made some brass by cutting down 45/70 cases. I used a 45acp die to seat and crimp the bullet. When I reloaded a fired case I used a 45 acp carbide die to neck size the case. Later on I discovered I could reload the case without resizing. I bought some Lee 45/60 dies a few years ago. I don't why I still have 45 acp dies.
