i know most of us have pocket watches we like,i do also, but can't wear it all the time like i would like to.I have been thinking of a design where a feller could wear his pocket watch when not wearing the vest.I know you can get little leather watch holders but what if you want to show off your chain and fob,i have alot of fobs and chains becuase i collected them for along time, got my first ones from my grandfather.
So i was thinking if you had a watch holder, with a strap, that went under the belt loop on your pants and of course the watch holder would have a loop on the back to slide over your cowboy belt and you could wear that part in the area of about where John Wayne wore his gun at the top of his hip, then the strap follows your belt, slides under the belt loop, then the strap has a slit and notch cut in it to hold the T-Bar of the chain and a little further down another loop that goes over your belt, either permanent or snaps to the back behind the belt (think sort of like a ranger belt for widths) then you could carry your watch, pull it out with the chain still attached to the strap and it would be pretty cool with some tooling or the worn look or whatever.
Now i ain't no artist but here's a drawing i tried to do to exsplain it (good luck with that)the watch pouch would also have a cut out at the bottom so you could push up on the watch to help pull it out.So here it is ....I hope..The outside black lines are the cowboy belt..

Or something like this and then you could make a simple belt keeper with a snap closure an attach your fob to that.

Uh yup! :) :) :) and with the strap or somethin you could stretch your chain out too.Now we cookin ;D Of course with somethin like that, you could just cut a slit in your cowboy belt if you was a mind to. And i'm thinkin heavier leather and tooled up purty~

Do a google for watch pouches. I found about a dozen ideas..even a steampunk  version.

My dad was a bus driver for MTA and had a pouch for his Ball. he was able to read it while driving. (and the watches had to have the accuracy of a regular railroad watch. As a driver if he was early to a stop they gave him a day off for every minute early...late wasn't a porblem.

anyways google and see the ideas.
