Big Whoop-t-Do right,..........

Well I've been looking at this stuff for my modern irons,....and all I'm reading about it sounds like it would be just the ticket for BP too,....

Has anyone else tried this?

I've been using it since late spring, great for them Bottom Feeders. perfect for Glocks. Does a pretty good job cleaning carbon off the stainless irons. I have also cleaned my cap n ball pistols with it.

Does it seem to help shed any fouling?

I had a .30-30 with a copper build up it seemed to help it. My wifes Rugers were pretty nasty I have cleaned them twice with it and they look so much nicer. The nasty carbon fouling is all but gone. If I weren't so lazy I'd clean them again with it. Apply some when the gun is warm, for the ride home. Like you would Moosemilk, or at least like I do. The directions with it should be followed for best results. I like it enough if I had a shop I would carry it.

Pay Dirt Norvelle

I have been reading about Froglube on some other gunboards I frequent and have been thinking about it.  Guess it is time to try it.

Smells like bubble gum, looks like buzzard puke, tastes like doggy doo, but works great for everything I've tried it on.

I cleaned up my dad's old Stevens 520 and you wouldn't believe what 60 years of crud looks like, but it's as bright as a new penny now...and weighs less, too

So first you clean everything petroleum based off the gun with one FrogLube then apply Froglube of another type. This right?
The closest place to me that sales it would be a 70 mile round trip so I'm kinda hesitant.
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

Thanks for the taste test too Forty Rod!!!

The way I understand it the paste and liquid are just two ways of application,.....it actually dissolves the petroleum products and carbon ,.....

Will FrogLube remove petroleum products, oils and grease?

Yes. FrogLube dissolves carbon and petro-chemicals on contact. You should discontinue use of petroleum or other petrochemicals as it will conflict with the optimal performance of FrogLube.

Looks good don't it?

I have been doing a lot of shooting of my hunting and milsurp rifles lately with jacketed bullets. I am currently using Ballistol oil in the barrels after I have cleaned them. I started using Ballistol after hearing about it and Moose Milk here (I had used some Ballistol products many years ago, but hadn't noticed it on the market for awhile). One thing I have seen is that after being in the safe for a weeke or two with Ballistol Oil in the bore, a dry patch before shooting comes out a bluish green! Obviously lifts the copper fouling. Amazing stuff.

This frog snot stuff might form a coating which would prevent or slow black powder fouling, we live in hope anyway.

Tasting it was an accident.  You put your fingers in your mouth after you smack them, and with a really slick gun that didn't used to be slick it can happen a lot easier than you'd believe.

I use Frog Lube on the base pins of my Ruger Vaquero's and Old Army's.

I use it exclusively to clean my BP gunz after the soap and hot water treatment to remove the carbon fouling.  Good stuff.
God forgives, I don't........

I can understand tastin that Froglube, but I am kinda worried about ya Forty Rod if ya know what doggie poo tastes like.  :P WM

I was afraid someone would bring that up.  ::)

It was the result of an unfortunate incident involving a skate board gone astray, leaving the sidewalk, and stopping abruptly some five feet onto the lawn.  My 13 year old son (at the time.  He's 46 now.) thought it was funny as hell.   :D

That's why he's no longer in my will.

I need to check the freezer and see if we have any ice cream.

Mean tie don't rule out a Froglube smoothie. ;D

I had never heard of Froglube until this thread, but followed it up and did a bit of research. I ended up buying an 8oz tube of FL  CLP paste, and 8oz bottles of solvent and FL CLP liquid.

You have no doubt heard about the floods here (Floods in the North, fires in the South). I am not in a flood zone,in fact I live almost on top of a big hill. Unfortunately my block is sloping and the garage is at the bottom of the driverway. When it rains, the drain gets overwhelmed and my garage ships water big time! Our Poo lice make us bolt the gun safes to the floor, so at the moment,I have been sitting on a stool in the garage in short pants and no shirt, cleaning handguns with a pair of fans trained on the rifle safes. I have done the 38s and 357s, still haveabout 9 handguns (my two 1911s are at the shop). I have stopped for dinner, drank a beer and my wife poured me a healthy sized red wine. I think I will wander downstairs, drown the rest in WD40 and put them away until tomorrow, lock up and have another beer.

What I can't get over is the fact that once I cleaned them and applied the FL paste to the exterior, left them for awhile and wiped them off with one of the microfibre cloths, they look like someone else's guns! They are sparkling!
