Old No7

Well, I am new here today, but have been lurking for awhile...

Don't know if I have a # or need one yet, but I'm sure one of the BOSS brothers will tell me.

Starting way back, my first handgun was a top-break Model 999 by H&R -- first gun I ever bought, and sold...

Fast-forward 25 years, I got a nice 999 again a few years back, then an old H&R auto-ejecting top-break in 32 S&W Long -- and then I saw the remake of "3:10 to Yuma"................  Knew it was just a matter of time before I got me a Schofield.

That came yesterday -- my own "stimulus" package I guess.

Glad to be part of this group, thanks.

After years of dreaming, months of working overtime and weeks of waiting, my Schofield arrived today.  Now that I qualify, I'd love to be an official BOSS member!

Now that my Schofield came back from repair and I've actually shot it, I'd love to be inducted as a BOSS member.  St. George, may I be issued a BOSS membership number?  I've been looking forward to it for a long time.

Thanks!

Hi; I'm so new that I squeak .... got all the stuff to begin shooting but the Schofield. I can't seem to find one under $1000 (counting tax and FFL charges). Does anyone have a tight used 7'/.45 LC that they would be interested in selling? Or have a new one that they would like to sell? ???

P.S. This of course is my moniker, but Wadd Watson Ellis was my great grandfather, and fought in the 2nd Alabama Mounted Regiment, moving to Texas after the Civil War and was one of the first Anglos on the Frio River south of San Antonio near where the town of Dilly is today.....
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

*******************************************************************************************************
Just bought a pair of gently used .45 LC/7 inch Navy Arms/Uberti Schofields ..... I get to pick them up on May 1st!  I can hardly wait.  Am planning to buy a pair of (one left, one right) cross draw holsters. Am hoping to get Will Ghormley (who made the rig Charley Price used in "3:10 To Yuma") in a plain oiled leather version ....

By the way, his website is:

http://www.willghormley-maker.com/Holsters.html

(By the way, he is selling the original black Charley Price prototype rig if someone is interested ....)

***********Now a question to the group; I was told at a local SASS meet that a crossdraw rig was not what I needed for SASS competition ... that because the weapons must be vertical or pointing downrange, so drawing one makes one turn almost backwards and slows a person down too much to be competitive. I would certainly appreciate your thoughts!***********
