Hoof Hearted

I have thought about doing this for a while.
Over on "The High Road" there are OFFICIAL threads for the different models so I am going to do the same thing here.
Many of us like to show off our pistols and this will give us a place to do so w/o "hijacking" our pards threads ;)

Rules are simple with "no axe grinding" taking precedence, followed by "stick to the topic" (no other models posted, please), then if you are seeking gunsmith advice, or reloading opinions, or grip refinishing, antiquing advice or whatever, please search for like posts and/or start one of your own.........

Thanks, HH

Thanks
I bought it in 1981 at the 118th. Gettysburg from a Suttler
He had just turned down a trade for S&W Mod 1 1/2 in nice cond., together with an 1860 with no remaining finish and light pitting,
matching numbers except the wedge, otherwise functioning.
My buddy had offered him the trade, but the Suttler wanted cash.

I asked my friend if he minded, if I made an offer, he said "go for it one of us should have it ! "  :D

It has all matching numbers.
The timing is a bit off due to wear of the hand  , if you cock it smartly it will lock in otherwise it under rotates and the bolt does not
engage completely.

Here is the other side in the case I made for it... you can just make out the faint inspector's cartouche in the grip.

I must also say the first photo (one of several) was taken by the Veteran's Tribute & Museum of Osceola
when I had it was on display for while.

These are my six 1860's, Ubertis and Colt 2nd and 3rd.

That would be a 51, I believe (unless you are referring to a Navy gripped 60).

I do not think anyone is offering the Navy grip '60 model yet.  I keep asking for a first issue '60 style, Navy grip with 7 1/2" barl,  but Mr Pietta does not answer!

I've got photos of your standard primer mod.  But, am looking forward to seeing the shotgun primer mod.  Sounds like it makes reloading easier than the standard primer mod.
