Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, now that you have got us curious, can you throw one in through the open ejection port? It is a significant advantage if you can on stages where you have to load an extra one under the clock. The 92s are good for this.

If he would have bought it, he'd have re engineered it till functioned properly. So maybe he should just so the rest of us can learn.

I've never owned one, but it appears to be somewhat copied after the Marlin action, so I suppose probably it would work.

Yeah! That's my Paladin.

What gets me is the number of posts on the Henry BB that go like this;  "When I acquired my HBB it wouldn't work worth S4!#, so I sent it back and when it was returned from the company it worked like a charm!" :( 8)

Now my question.  Why couldn't the company make it work like a charm in the first place ??? ???

Now maybe someone could make a butt cover and finger lever wrap from leather from the endangered CHUPACABRA and see if it worked then. :D :D

The 22's seem to do real well. The big ones will jam up if you hurry them. I've got a 22 and my brother has both the 22 and a 44.

I just saw this.

I have one in 45. It works flawlessly btw.  It had some issues when I got it, but I called Antonio and he took care of it, no charge. He even paid for postage both ways.  I didn't have to send it off to a famous gunsmith and pay to make it work like some of the more popular rifles almost automatically have done to them.

Yes, you can chamber one in the chamber and still load 10.

However, I would personally not do it.

To load the magazine tube requires working real near, pretty much in front of, the muzzle.

To work near the muzzle of a gun with a round in the chamber is something I personally don't do.

If for some reason you do need a quick 11th round, it is possible after the magazine is empty to drop one directly into the ejection port to load a single round.

Now, thinking about it a bit, it MIGHT be possible to load it with the lever partially open so that a round doesn't come out of the magazine when you work the lever. and it might allow a round to be inserted into the chamber after the magazine is full.

I have never tried it.

Paladin, if it is important to know, I will give it a try next weekend.

Rick

P.S. - Sir Charles... here is the finger leather wrap on my Henry Big Boy -
