I was out at the local mall with the wife this weekend. While I was in Sheels ordering one of her Christmas presents, I looked through the gun department (as I always do when I'm there) and came across this beauty. It's a Uberti 51 R/M conversion. It was used but in really new like condition. It's chambered for .38 Special and was only $429. I knew the limit for my Christmas present was $250 so I told my wife that is what I want for Christmas. I ponied up the rest and now I just have to wait till Christmas to play with the addition to my gun safe.

Here are some pictures. It's all I have until I get to open it on Christmas.

Congrats on your new gat!

I've got the identical gun, bought 'as new' the same time I bought a new '71 in .38, both with 7-1/2" barrels. Mine came with a mainspring that was so light it wouldn't pop primers. Hope to have a coupla new ones in the mail by tomorrow.

Odd how much I like these guns as in the past, you couldn't have interested me in a .38 SAA. My first '71 was also in .38 with 5-1/2" barrel, purchased for my wife, who doesn't like it. It's the only one I've fired with BP so far, and that was a blast!

If you're praying to the God I think you are, then you KNOW the Maya are wrong.

In any case, there's still plenty of time to stock up on Kool Aid .... ;>)

Agreed!

Rick B, if you enjoy your '51 RM HALF as much as I love my new (last year) 44 New Model (long grip) Open Top, wild horses won't be able to drag the smile off your face!

Even the Bling wouldn't be too hard if you substituted a sterling decorative concho (rather that the special engraved one on his rig) and used silver spots!

It'd be even cooler than it is right now!

Welp, I got my pistola and man am I as happy as a pig in shinola.  ;D

Now I just have to wait until the snow melts a bit so I can get to the range and try it out. I've got 500 rounds of .38 special to use in it.

It sure is purty.

Hope everyone got something nice for Christmas.

Good on ya!  Why wait until snow melts?  They'll make nice holes in snowbanks!

Sadly, we only have two shooting ranges anywhere close to my home and they both close during the winter. They are down some long dirt roads that they don't care to plow during the winter so they close the ranges until spring.

We used to have an indoor range but that went out of business when the goofy kid running it wanted to only allow police officers to shoot there. He didn't seem to understand that we tax payers already gave them two ranges that were much better than the one he wanted to have them pay him to use.

I would go out in my backyard to try it out, but my neighbors would not appreciate it much. I'm sure they would have some police officer pay me a visit for playing with my new Christmas present. Sad times indeed.

Understand.

Perhaps one or 2 shots on New Year would pass, as long as you have something safe to shoot.  I have a tree with a half-dozen "research holes" in its' 3 foot diameter trunk.
;)

Those range trips will have to wait.

How about inside your closed garage n light loadsinto a bucket of sand or shoot tissue "blanks". Where there is a will there is a way... Wear your ear muffs though and warn the family.
Used to shoot in my basement, but had to tell the folks in the APT above me when or they'd come running thinking there was a fight....
Lucky I had a Coal storage bin with a heavy door, not used for coal in years. Pretty nice indoor short range.
