And Now We Know

Invinoveritas

I am newer to this than most of you, but I guess we should be glad the USFA revolvers lasted as long as they did. I bought 6 or so in the last 2 months.

You can't keep expecting someone to keep pissing  away money building Single actions. It is a very limited market. Look at this forum-- there can be days between posts-- of course part of that is due to no new guns.

We can all question USFAs overall decisions. I might not care for this new product but it is likely for a much demographic than me. From what I see some young guys shooting , I could see this thing doing ok.

I would have said USFA has enough parts to keep making revolvers, but since 20 anniversary guns, became just 10, maybe not.

Enjoy the ones you have and with any luck it may be one of the few things any of  us owns that may appreciate.

Pretty hard to say they were pissing money away building SAAs unless you had access to their books isn't it Invinoveritas?  And if anyone on the planet used a single forum (such as this one) to gage an items popularity they would go out of business fast.

I'm uncertain what you mean with:   "... for a much demographic than me";  but I think it doesn't apply to me.

I'm grumpy.  I want my USFA factory circa 2005 and I'd buy a few more of USFA's fine pistols given the chance.

Oh My! Get me the directions for the Hartford Gun Club.  I can't wait to see and shoot the new ZIP gun.  I wonder what colors it will be available in?

Old Doc

I think I will wait for the CDNN closeout sale in about 6 months.

If it don't come in 45 Colt or 44/40 I don't want it. WM

It has been said that one step above a deep passion is obsession, which has created good things like the Kansius Cancer Research Machine going through the trials process, or it has created some bad things like what was represented in "Moby Dick".  I believe and hate to say this may be USFA's Moby Dick!  USFA can go down in the history book for forcing Colt to clean up its act.  In fact there was a rumor that Colt even asked USFA to make components for their SAA.  USFA also got creative such as the 12/22.  That is where it energy needed to go, in the creations that could be in the revolver world.  USFA had assembled and trained and allowed their people to become great traditional craftspeople that for a while created some of the greatest American Products seen in a long while.  Each time demand fell off for old world revolvers at the high end, someone came along with something that reinvigorated demand, like Ruger, and Uberti.  USFA fell into the old Colt problem of a great display of "Mums The Word" when they are doing something its fan base is probably not going to want to hear.  Let's see if I can say nothing and answer nothing for two or so years while rumors fly, and then see if I can turn a bunch of folks from revolvers to something else like a plastic semi-auto 22 that is modular.  There aren't enough of those to already go around.  Instead of competition with just a couple of companies, lets go into competition with a vast number of companies and hope for a military contract when budgets are being reduced and people want wars to end.  Good Luck!

Well Said Doc!
I am constantly amazed at the way that success  can go to a person's head and change them from a "genius" to a "moron" in no time flat. It was fascinating, then intriguing, then mortifying to watch The Man divert himself ( and divert his entire company) to varied and increasingly moronic brain farts projects.... and now I fear we will watch his previously grand corporation wither and die.  Perhaps someone can have him tested ...

As an aside, My Lovely Spousal Unit, upon hearing the above, reminded me that "Moby  Dick" was once considered a social disease, and now I have to clean my keyboard...  :-X
