Sure hope Sandy doesn't slow the production of USFA . I hope they can increase production NEXT YEAR .

Called them yesterday to order a part. While I had the girl on the phone (didn't ask her name) I said to her "Look, everyone is saying that the company is going under. Tell me the truth. Is that true?" With a very calm way she said "No. That is not true. The company is just in the process of re-tooling. We are about two years behind on production but we are still taking orders." I then said "The rumors aren't true?" and she said "No." Do I believe her? Well, I don't know but that was what I got just yesterday. I guess only time will tell.

BYW, on another note, someone just put up a pair of Long Hunter Rodeos in 38sp on the SASS classifieds for $2050. Will be interresting to see if a pair of the regular rodeos will sell for that high. That might just be the highest price I've ever seen them listed for!

I find it amazing that back in the 1830's and 1840's, retooling was accomplished at a more significantly rapid pace. I guess it is all relative.

I'm doing a search on USFA today and I find the following websites www.usfazipfactory.com ziprelease.com and others. Here's the link. All relate to USFA but none of the links are active (yet?). I've heard rumors of a "plastic" gun.

I think the retooling is a myth. I think it's more of a detooling. A call to Turnbull may be in order since he does the color case.

Oh my God!!! The link to the new USFA web site (post above) is now active and, if you are anything like me, you will probably feel a little sick to your stomach when you see what all of this re-tooling crap has led up to.

Maybe not if they can figure out how to turn it into a modular system for a battle rifle.
