They prolly used the horses to mow the grass and fertilize the yard. She prolly dipped snuff in addition to smoking the pipe.

Those sod houses were popular when lumber was scarce. I am sure that they spent a lot of money on that store bought window.

These old photos are great I'd like to see them all in an on line album with just the details of the photo.
