Uberti 1876 link pin removal?

I cant get the link pin out of the bolt on my 76. First I tried to tap it out with a drift. Then I tried a 2" c clamp with a socket to press it out. I tried both methods with heat and it still wont move. I tried to move the pin in both directions. I really need to give it a good cleaning as I want to start loading with black powder. What am I doing Wrong?

The toggle link pin in the bolt and on the lever should be press fits.
You should not need to remove these for cleaning.
Just a thought on my part.
