Rick,

We do the reenactment of the 1850 Settler's Riot in the field just in front of Joe's Crab Shack ... sure come on down and let's do it!

My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

Rick,

Since I volunteer at Loaves and Fishes during the week and am a home owner as well, I see both sides of the story ...

I live in a fairly affluent part of Sacramento where if your car is over four years old you are considered kind of a failure by your neighbors ...

Contrast this with a fellow I served ... he looked and said that he had had a rough night of it ... the river rose and he was sleeping so soundly that he didn't feel the rising water until it started to enter his sleeping bag ... So, at three AM or so he had to move his tent to higher ground and find a place to dry all his belongings before hypothermia set in ... and remember, it is three AM and he is homeless (and had no money).

All of a sudden, the central heat/air of my place seemed downright luxurious ... and a dry bed the same. Suddenly, I did not feel as much of a 'failure' as I perceived I was ....

Rick,

Possibly so .... but I have 95 Jumps and 'way too many dives ... I are a graduate of Naval SCUBA School, Army Airborne and more that I won't go into ... I feel like I have done my macho stuff in my early years and can just sit around 'Waiting for God' ...
