Well its two weeks before the State match and I cracked my firing pin (the percussion plan worked loose).  I've called Taylors and they don't have it.  Haven't gotten through to Chiappa support in Dayton.

So - does anyone out there have a firing pin I can buy or does anyone know of someone that makes them?

Thanks any info would be great.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a handsome, and well preserved body; but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming...."WOW!... What a ride!"

Thanks Major - I tried.

I've gotten though to Chiappa after I posted the above & ordered pins.  I'm afraid that they will arrive too late though, so I thought I'd try to see what I can scare up.

Its a pain - I finally have a load that gives me consistent 3-4 in groups all day long and wouldn't you know it - a problem two weeks before.

Well I might have fixed it.  Its cracked about 15 % of the width of the base at about a 30% angle.  With about an hour of gentle tapping I straightened it.  There was a small chip from the crack that I filed down and I re inserted the pin with out problems.  It moves freely and doesn't hang up.

Now that its straight I think it will hold for the match as long as the percussion plate stays tight.  I originally blue locktited the plate screws, but after about 5000 rounds it worked loose again and I think is the reason the pin bent in the first place.  My real hope is that the replacement shows up in time.

Thanks - Pvt Greg
