So I just picked up a Uberti 1876 in .45/60 on Bunbroker. I wanted a .50/95, but I have so darn much .45/70 brass already that it just made sense to go with the .45/60. While I was waiting for my rifle to arrive I trimmed down 40 rds of brass and ordered the dies from Buffalo Arms as well as their 300 gr bullet mold with the crimp groove. By the time the rifle arrived I had cast enough bullets to load up the amount of brass I had ready. The load was 62 grs of Goex Cartridge grade powder with a .060 Walter's wad and a Winchester magnum rifle primer. The rifle came with a Marbles tang sight and a beach style front sight with no barrel sight. I hit the range yesterday and set up at 50 yards to get dialed in. First shot was way low, but after a couple of adjustments I was up and centered. The rifle functioned smoothly and perfectly . Once I was used to it I was getting touching groups and then shot a few clays set on the berm. The only down side is that the Marble's sight set at it's highest setting shoots dead center at 50 yards. I guess I need either a lower front sight or maybe one of the new Marble's tang sights with the taller posts for longer ranges. For now I am very happy with this rifle. At least these old eyes can see the target well at 50 yards.

Hey Goose have made a mistake on my post .The mould is only marked 45-75 .The spoonhandle loading tool is marked pat.date Sept. 14 1880 . I got them as a set . Sorry about that .

Congratulations on your 76, Goose.  Sounds like you have her shooting pretty good!   Marbles does make extended posts for their tang sight - no need to buy the whole sight. :)
