Great looking bag, Bill, and an impressive outfit for a Plainsman, too.

Buffalo Bill, from up Fort Union way, furnished the bag. It was a great prize for the Rifle Frolic. We're going to do another postal match after the first of the year.

Now, alls you need to do is fill it up.  What kind of gear are you taking out on the trail?

Hi,

Just a thought ... October Country has the largest selection of possible bags I have ever seen, and at good prices.

The prices can be reduced, usually to about 60% if one is willing to buy it as a kit (and the leather comes precut: The kit comes complete with needles and thread).

Give them a ring ... they are extremely customer driven!

Hi,

I put this on another thread too, so scroll pat it if it is a repeat ...

This is the basic Bridger Bag kit ... I bought some extra leather from them and made a patch knife sheath for the aft end

The straps for the bag looked less strong than I liked, so I added straps of a black leather (I wanted to make it look like I had repaired it with whatever leather I had available on my trip to California ... I also added some roller belt buckles (from Tandy) to make a 'hinge and take the stress of the bag flopping about on my hip ....
