The wait is over!

It's been long, but at long last, they're here and they are very good. Six cavity round ball molds made on the same platform as the other Big Lube®LLC molds are now in stock.

The standard stock sizes are .380", .454" and .457" spherical.

The .380" and .454" are on the shelf now. The .457" will be here by Friday.

The price is the same as the other Big Lube®LLC six cavity molds.

Out of the blocks, it looks like the .454" is going to be the fastest seller. They are flying off the shelf.

Not surprised, there are a lot more Pietta and Uberti guns out there than ROA's.

Finally got a chance to try my new 6 cav. .454 ball mould. Cast almost 500 balls in half an hour, the mould worked perfect. The only criticism I have is minor and that is that the flat on the balls is larger than I expected, and larger than on on my 2 cavity LEE ball moulds. We'll see how they shoot, should be fine.

Howdy Slim,

That's a concession to the tooling stem strength. Smaller sprue hole = weaker tool stem = more tool breakage. We break plenty of tools as it is. But, I've shot the RBs in my RVs and they do shoot very well. I load them sprue side down.

It might turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Without wearing my reading glasses the sprue flats are now easier to see while loading!

We have an old guy (man,when I call you old, you getting up there!) at the range whose eyesight is pretty poor and we reload under an open shed range building, which makes things worse. The closest he can focus is the foresight of his 7 1/2" ROA with his arm outstretched. He has a small dot of paint of fluro orange model aircraft paint painted opposite the flat. He charges his chambers, holds it under someone else's nose to check he has charged his five chambers (no nipple in the sixth), then he seats his spotted balls, HaHa! He is not a bad shot, I'd hate to be trying to get away from him.

His sweet little about six year old Grandaughter paints the dots for him. She uses safety glasses, a respirator mask and rubber gloves and is as cute as a button, all decked out and very serious about helping Pa. Grandma makes her scrub up afterwards and she gets an ice cream.

She confided in me with a wink, that she would do it anyway to help Pa, but Grandma is so pleased when she makes an ice cream cone for her, puts sprinkles and a few M&Ms on top and gives it to her that she plays along.

She comes to the range occasionally, (her ear muffs are almost the size of her head). She is in charge of keeping his two cappers charged with the correct caps and supervising his chamber charging and putting the cap back on his powder bottle and she takes her duties very seriously. Seriously cute.
