Here are two  more hatbands that Curley Cole was kind enough to donate ...

The black hat has a woven black leather hat band and may not show up too well (if at all) .... Kinda my "Johnny Cash" look .... *S*
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

Not a true leather hatband, but I did use leather for the tie ends and decorative tin cone/horsehair ends.

Professor Marvel

Greetings my Good Wad -
for re-enacting or museum docent purposes it might seem the "best" thing to do would be to research
exhibits, photos and paintings of your era in the Sacremento area.

The Village Hat band , while surprisingly nice, appears a tad modern to my eye....

Based on a brief search   I should think that you could not go wrong with a Gros-Grain ribbon or the
braided horse-hair  bands that Curley provided.

hope this helps

This is good timing, just bought a new hat yesterday and it needs a custom band.

Proffessor Marvel,

To tell the truth, I get second looks at much of my outfit, but not much attention re my hatband ... in fact, if it hadn't looked so 'indian', I probably would have left it as it was ...
