Went Trading! (now wth pictures!)

Swapped my 74 Shiloh Sharps for an 1884 Trapdoor infantry, and a really Minty Eddystone 1917. Both have bright bores and sharp rifling, good 1890 cartouche on the Trapdoor, the 1917 looks unissued with still lovely blueing.

I'll miss that Shiloh, but had not shot it in years. Figure to get a lot of use out of these two!

Perhaps I should change, to medical as I am green with envy over both rifles

GOt pictures in the original posting now. Light not the greatest, but you get the idea. The light area on the 1917 hadguard is just a trick of the light, its not a splice!

Nice rifles, Chuck! I like the "Marshall Cavendish History of World War II" set, too. Great series!

Great books! My Dad got the first 2 back in the 70s, but never went further. 35 years later I hunted up the rest of the series.

Funny one would expect to find a decent shape 17 enfield, not so much the springfield, but really they are only 31 years apart, sortta like the 06 calibered 03s vs the Garand. It just seems a lot bigger gap between the black powder horse riding Indian wars and the machine gun shooting airplane flying WWI than the smokeless powder pointy bullet shooting 30-06 03 rifle and the semi auto shooting 30-06 garand.

Perhaps it is because Dad was there for WWII, Grand Pa for WWI but Great Grand Pa was there during the IW period.

In any case both really look outstanding.
