Took a pattern from Will's collection and modified them to fit my ATV...

Well I guess these pics will have to come in one at a time.

Very nice!  You did a great job on them - you can sure be proud of those!

Hmmmmm . . . . not familiar with the term "ATV" . . . does that refer to "All Terrain Vaquero"?   ;D

daddyeaux

lol......thanks BBB I'll have to remember that ATV.

Marshal Will Wingam

Those are quite nice. I like the way you buckle them on the front rack. Good work with that pattern.

Is there any attach point at the bottom that keeps them from slipping around to the side, outside the fender?

Daddyeaux,

Something tells me that if you offered that on E-bay and ATV magazines, you would always have orders ... I don't think anyone is making such a product ... Nice Job!

Lookin' Good!  The first set of saddlebags I ever owned were from WWII and I slung 'em on my bikes.  Worked great, and went well with the .30-30 I carried in a scabbard.  Those were the days!

Got a question on the finish for these bags. Since they will be used outdoors, but then again I guess all saddle bags are used outdoors. These bags have been treated with neatsfoot oil and Skidmores with beeswax. That is what I do with the duck straps i make. Is this sufficient or should I use a sealer such as Tandy's satin sheen and then treat with Skidmores with beeswax?
Let me know what you think.
Thanks

rickk

Very nice !

I am assuming the closure strap is 1"?

Maybe consider a brass locking buckle, just in case someone wants to throw a small padlock on it to keep out the more casual riff-raff?

Come on guys, I know you got some good opinions on what finish I should use....help me out here.
Thanks

Marshal Will Wingam

For outside use, you almost need something waxy. Maybe you could put some of that beeswax boot treatment on them.

This set of bags has been treated with neats foot oil and then with Skidmores Creme with beeswax. My main question is, is this sufficient for outdoor use or should i seal the leather and then use the Skidmores?

Marshal Will Wingam

That I can't advise, Daddyeaux. Perhaps it would help to take a trip to a motorcycle shop to see what they treat saddlebags with.
