Curiouser and curiouser.  Just went to the Gun Broker web site and there, right at the top of the page, are two  single actions that USFA donated to the USA Olympic Shooting Team.  Both are up for auction, the proceeds to benefit the team.  Both have factory letters stating that they were shipped from the factory on June 29th, 2012.  One is a 7.5" flat top model with ivory grips and the other a 5.5" SAA with master grade "C" engraving and ivory grips.  So... now we know of  at least two guns that USFA has turned out so far this year!

Shipped and built aren't the same.  They knew the Olympics were coming and probably built them quite a while ago.

Probably true, but at least we know that SOMETHING is going on.

Might have to call and ask the night watchman...

When expensive machinery's sold off, and staff's let go - well, that's not a sign of prosperity and forward-thinking management.

Any news is good news.  I still wish that SASS would have legalized the Double Eagle.  They sure felt good in my hands.

USFA has also updated their web site, showing the donated pistols.  I also received an e-mail "newsletter" from USFA informing me of the auction.

If nothing else, we now know that the night watchman is computer literate.  ;D

I just had a friend return an old USFA to them for repair. He got immediate turnaround and a free rebluing. That's an industrious and talented night watchman!

Nice, but repairs and rebluing doesn't equate to manufacturing  new guns.  My whole criticism of USFA is that they dont just come out and state what is going on to their loyal customers.  If, in fact they are simply "retooling" and plan to start production again, why not just tell their customers this instead of not saying anything.  If they go down the tubes it will be their own fault.

Surprised they didn't list Merwin, Hulbert, as well...

If you're gonna own the name - probably be a good idea to have an actual business plan and method of manufacture.

Oh, wait - the MH guy already tried that...
