#10 caps (CCI or Rem) fall off the nipples of my 2nd Gen '51 Navy. Even 'pinching' them has little effect.

Where do I order replacements and who has them?

They use the same nipples as a Uberti (which is who made most of the 2nd Gen parts).  Treso nipples are the best and you can get them from several sources.

You could also use the SlixShot nipples from Desperado Bullets or the Stainless replacement nipples or Treso nipples from Track of the Wolf. I've used the SS nipples and like them for the Rem#10 caps.

Treso Nipples for the Ubertis and #10 Remington caps work very well on my 2nd Gens.  Possibles Shop is a prime source.

I've tried the nipples from a Uberti .44 '58 in the Colt '51 and it's a no-go. I take it that the .36 nipples are a different number ....

The no-go is strange, as Uberti uses the same nipples in all the guns, Army, Navy, Remington and Colt.  They used a Metric nipple years ago, how old is the Remington?

The thread should be #12-28.  Do you have a Ruger Old Army?  That nipple will also fit an Uberti, or 2nd Gen Colt.

Uberti nipples are 12X28 as are ASM
Pietta are 6X.75 (I think so are Euroarms)

Ubertis from before sometime around 1982 are also 6x.75.  I have a 1977 Uberti L&R that takes the short Pietta nipples (6x.75x.500)

I will bow to Fingers expertise any time there is doubt on my part. I can only relate to my own experience with nipple fit on the guns I have owned. Never had an L&R, just about 30-35 various Colt & Remmie repros + one Dance (love it). Geeze now I might hafta pull the nips on my 1969 Uberti '61Navy to double check. Dang you Fingers!

I ordered nipples for my '51 from TOTW from a guy who seemed to have a handle on the matter.

I have a Pietta, a Ped and a Uberti .44 Rem and all of them have non-interchangeable nipples. The Ped was built from a kit by someone who knew his stuff and I regard it as my 'best' with perfect timing and incredible accuracy. I have tied in an accuracy match with this gun against a custom percussion duelling pistol.

Just adding some additional info Hellgate.  Don't mean to cause you extra work.

The people at TOTW and Possibles Shop are pretty knowledgeable and won't steer you wrong PJ
