Two Walks, I am not of the same ilk of Christianity as you. Jesus taught me differently. Your quote of the Bible is an approximation of the verse, but your irreverent and  disrespectful interpretation of the lesson that Jesus was teaching when he said those words are exactly the opposite of the real meaning of that Bible verse. Take this to any Christian minister and ask him if I am not correct here. I dare you.

Threaten my family, harm my wife, endanger my children or steal my property and I will not seek justice or vengeance.

For retribution is mine saith the Lord

I will just help with the travel arrangements.

What has this got to do with someone committing the petty theft of someone's raspberries? Did you miss the part where I said that I too would defend my household from a forced invasion? Two kids breaking in through a glass door is VERY different from someone taking raspberries off of a hedge in the back yard. Do you really believe that a petty theft warrants a person to be permanently crippled? If you do, then the Sharia law advocates have won and the principles of Christianity, as Jesus taught it, have lost.

Hi,

I posted this on another thread so if you have already read this please bear with me ...

My Ex had this neighbor that was an ex-bronc rider ... about 5'4" and 150 Lbs. soaking wet ... and a lifetime of smoking Camels had had its affect ... his personal accessory was an oxygen tank and a cannula ...

Now imagine this poor man waking up to two local kids trying to break into his rear sliding glass door. Now imagine this old bronc rider, who by his own admission had broken every bone in his body at least once, working his way to the two sliding glass panels (from inside the house), dragging his oxygen tank in one hand and his old pump shotgun in the other.

Imagine him racking a round in the chamber on a perfectly still night. Now imagine him giving the kids a half minute to vacate the area before he put a load of buckshot through both windows.

He said he was never bothered again .... and i believed him ...*S*

TTFN,

I will no longer respond to the rants of the small minded that want to sling mud rather than discuss in an adult manner.

TTFN,

He racked a round in the chamber ... an unmistakable sound if anyone has ever heard it ... then he gave the probably teen-age perps  a full half minute to get away ... he had no intention of hurting anyone or anything but the glass in the sliding doors (he later remarked that the insurance company took care of the glass). He fully wanted those kids to get back to their friends and tell them that the 'M-f was crazy and don't p--- him off' .... and they didnt'.

I did not miss the point about the berries or even your statement of defending the home front.  My point being that you often get so caught up in yourself and judgements of what people say that you miss the point.

The point being get a sense of humor and learn to laugh at life because it sure a heck is laughing at you!
