Marshal Halloway

Howdy folks!

We are back in town after one week in Branson, Missouri.

We had a wonderful vacation, got to meet Narvous, one of our citizens, and his lovely wife Clara. (Thanks to you both for what you did for us).

We also got a chance to meet Buck Taylor (Gunsmoke & Tombstone) and had a nice chat with him.

I will report the details later with pictures in other posts.

Also thanks to AnnieLee, Tequila and Marshal Harpoluke for your phone calls and updates on what has been going on in town. Thanks to you fine folks, I was able to fix some problems we had on the forum last week.

We have not yet been able to read all PMs and emails, just the alerts and Forum reports.

Have a great evening.

Welcome back Marshal and Marshal'ette. As far as I know nothing much happened while you were gone. Hope you had a great time and that the Marshal'ette didn't make you model any more of those butt ugly hats.

I'm still trying to picture AnniLee throwing up confetti and dancing around.

;D  ;D Well, Big John, I sure did some modeling all right...
Don't worry, no pictures will be published this time.... I think....

Marshal'ette is out of town again until Sunday, so until then, I am safe.

And she did buy some hats and we had a lot of fun shopping as usual.

Marshal'ette Halloway

Well I am back, and I had a wonderful time. But I have to tell you, I called the Marshal 3 times on Sunday as I was coming home..you know~~ to give him time to get things in order.. the women's unmentionables off the ceiling fans and .....well.....you know.. things like that. *Just in case*

It worked, cause when I got home, the laundry was all done, the house was all cleaned up and he was all shaved and perfumed up, waiting for me on the porch..

Come to think of it~~~~the laundry was already done..and the house was already clean when I left it...

He sure did smell good and he suuuurrre was full of sweet talk.
Hmmmm..
I'll have to think on this a little bit.
**grinning**

We had a blast in Branson. I have been there so many times, I could be a tour guide, but it is fun to take Marshal everywhere and show him things and places.

We got to go out to see Narvous at his home place and spend some time with him.. That was great.
This man is amazing. He has worked and performed as one of the Baldknobbers in "The Shepherd of the Hills" production. He has also worked with Dolly Partons show, "Dixie Stampede". He has been on his own and  worked and trained horses since he was 14 years old, and is more comfortable and at ease riding on their backs than walking on his own feet I think...and I would lay a thousand dollar bill on the table betting anyone that you couldn't find a more limber 62 year old man anywhere.
He showed us his wonderful collection of everything from guns to handmade knives to beautiful things made from his Indian friends. A room full of autographed pictures and memories that some people only dream about having.
And we were introduced personally to his horses, rabbits, pigeons, cat, and 6 dogs. ( I tried to get him to let me have one of them, but didn't get the job done.  ;) )
He and his sweet wife Clara graciously treated us to tickets to Silver Dollar City .
What wonderful people they both are.
On Sunday, we met Clara and spent a little time with Narvous at Silver Dollar City, where he and Marshal met up with  Buck Taylor( something which absolutely thrilled Marshal to his boot straps and back up.. )
Had a great time there.

We camped at the Taneycomo Trout River, so we cooked and ate mostly at the campsite but one night we ate at an, all you can eat Lobster, Crab Legs, and Shrimp place in Branson.
That's right.. all you can eat Lobster. Whole lobsters! Ye gads, I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
My oh my oh my~~ believe you me.. I can hurt 'em when it comes to crab legs.. add the lobster and shrimp to it and I can hurt 'em real bad.. lol
I literally waddled out of the place and was miserable.. but it was worth it.. Yum!

We had a great time, but home is always good to come back to.
Looking forward to going back to Branson in October to the Show-Me Shootout.

Glad ya had a great time and are back safe.

BTW, I was in the Branson area from June '84 - December '85 attending the College of the Ozarks. I didn't go to many of the shows on the strip because of being a poor college student. It is a beautiful area. I got to see some of it while delivering stuff for the campus computer dept. We did data processing for some of the area businesses. I haven't been back there since.
