Is the Peavey loader shown for revolvers or single shot firearms?

From the way the patent reads I'm assuming single shot firearms. It says holds twelve charges and mentions holding the charge and "patch and ball" and mentions about placing the loader over the muzzle of the barrel. Is there a sight to look up the patent number?
