I've decided to rebarrel my 24" Uberti 1873 32WCF to a shorter barrelled 20" 357 caliber and hotrod it for CAS. I found damage halfway down the barrel from what I assume was a botched attempt to remove a stuck bullet. I'm assuming that it will require only a new barrel? I'll headspace it myself as I have access to a lathe/vertical milling machine and gauges. Also is it normal that the pin that holds the mag tube in place is extremly tight. I whacked it with a drift pin and mallet and it was'nt going anywhere.

The Uberti .32-20 uses a .357 bolt and carrier.  The only thing you might have to do is adjust the extractor.  As far as the mag tube pin, they range from falling out all by themselves to taking a heck of a beating before they come out.  Just make sure you have the barrel band supported while trying to drive out a really recalcitrant pin or you might loosen the band in its dovetail.
