Hi Y'all, I'm just wondering if an Armi Sport 45-110 with a 34" barrel and D.Pedersoli tang and fronts mounted would qualify for the Cheap Sharps Club. I've had this set up for a few years now and just love it.It has put more than one deer on the supper table and I hope a few more in the years to come.

I am new to every thing regarding this site so do not know if cheap is in price or what. Today I just bought a Shilo Sharps New Modle 1863 mdl,mil style with 30in barrel,  at an auction, not cheap in my book, there was a Dealer there & he was not about to let me get a steel, but it was an ok buy, I think, will know for sure when I shoot it.I also got the acessory box with molds& load stick. I paid $875.00, good ,bad or just dumb don'tknow, but no rust anywhere & no pits in barrel, everything alittle stiff, need s a deep clean, but I have wanted a sharps for 60yrs,& this looks just like the one I wanted as a kid. My children don't know what I paid, did the phone pic thing & my oldest Son said I finley got somthing that he would love to have, awsome, was the word he used. Cheap Sharps , na, but defently in the Sharps Club, where do I sign.

Cheap is always relative.  To What? I guess to "the market" ???  When the cheapsharpsclub was started I think it was to gloat that you didn't have to wait three years & several thou' down. Some felt that $1,000 was the qualifying price, but not when you "got a good deal" for whatever. I'm not sure what a paper cartridge Sharps goes for, but if you "got a good deal" you are in IMHO. 8)

I qualified with a used Pedersoli!  Shoots like a Dam, right along side a Montana smoke pole.

Now it is "gemmerized" it cost me almost as much as a Montana product, but waay COOL 8) 8)

If you got a Shiloh '63 for $875 plus goodies, you got a steal! That's $1000 off current list. I've got both the MR and carbine '63s, in .50 calibre. That way I can shoot the same bullets I use in my 50-70s.

The '63s don't get enough credit or recognition. Thousands of them must have 'gone west' after the Civil War. They were the among the first cartridge buffalo guns along with the ML rifle muskets that "went west' following the Civil War.

I got a real good deal about 7 years ago on an IAB .45-70 sharps business rifle W/ tang sight and globe front sight. I have competed with it for the past 2000 rounds of competition with many many wins and seconds and thirds. Shooting Goex factory loads worked very well in our shooting and it was all for the cost of $700. Competed against Pedersoli heavy sharps and Bodine RB's and still came out on top most times.

Yeah I guess I qualify for that term "Cheap" too! I did not spend $3500 dollars for my Sharps rifle but it sure did shoot like one when I first tried it out as a 45/70 caliber. I wanted something that would for sure put the big hurt on a Bison bull, so I had a very well known and respected gunsmith from Southwest, Missouri do a ream job on the rifle and create me a 45/120 by golly. I see how she shoots when the new dies come in and post a thing or two. ;D  Oh yeah! It is one of those ITALIAN RIFLES from Italy by the company called Pedersoli and cost was $1650 plus tax and another $120 for the ream job and $20 for insurance and $22 for postage back to my house. Total was $1,812 dollars.

paid 689.00 plus 41.34 in tax for a Tri-Star Bridgeport model. it shoots where pointed. i do not always point it where it needs to be shot though.

Ranch 13 every time I talked to Shilo about a rifle, it was a 2 year wait and 50% of the money up, well I just didn't want to wait that long. Yeah, I might have could of saved a nickel or two on postage but I know that rifle would have been $4,000 dollars with the stock and the other things I wanted on the gun.

If this rifle does not shoot well enough for me, I will have a badger barrel put on the rifle, I am not worried much as this rifle is for hunting big game. The 45/90 is going to be the target rifle, if it does shoot up to snuff, I'll send it down Joplin way to the gunsmith and I know it will be an excellent shooter when it arrives at my tepee!!! 8)

??? Don't know why they would of told you that. 250$ deposit and  16 months if you wait the entire time out, of course there's always plenty of rack rifles in 45 caliber you could of had bored out. Think there's six on their web site now. They usually put about a dozen a month up and by the end of the 3rd or 4th day, they're pretty well picked over.

If you want a Shiloh and don't want to wait there's always Bill Goodman. He may not have precisely what you want but......

PJ, what bullets are you using in your 63, and what powder charge? I had some Brooks ring tails cast for me but can only get 50 gr 2f swiss by weight in the Hahn tube,& have bullet in the tube proper, 58gr if I try to compress the powder & skip a paper disc between bullet & powder, I orderded a NEI sharps 50 mould yesterday, but it only  weighs 410gr, I'm trying to get more powder behind the lead for an Elk hunt this fall. The brooks did ok @ 50 yds  50 gr 3" up &1"R 2" circle, the 58gr 5"up, 1"R holes touching, the powder measure in the box with the rifle had tape on it with 62gr marked on it, dont know how he got that much powder in the chamber.I cleaned between each shot & lubed bore with bore butter like a front  stuffer, even though the bullets were pan lubed ,I think it will be a shooter when I find for sure what it likes,

About 5 - 6 years ago I walked into my local gun shop and they had a used Pedersoli Long Range Express in 45/70 with a 34" half octagon/round barrel. I had always wanted a Sharps since I was a kid and this fit the bill. The price was $600 and the rifle looked almost unfired. It has proven to be an accurate and reliable rifle and although I have bought a few more for a lot more since then it is still one of my favorites.

'74 shiloh sharps sporter in 45/70 with curly wood paid $1100
63 shiloh sharps military in .54 paid $1000
63 shilohe  sharps carbine in .50 paid $1000
59 pedersoli sharps military in .54 paid $700
All are incredibly accurate, the '63 military will put 5 shots in 1 7/8" @ 100 yards. I figure these all qualify for the cheap club. Got molds , bullets and cartridge kits included  with all of these. All you have to do is be patient, the deals are out there

Got my 'new' Pedretti & Sons 1868 'Hartford" Model Sharps .54 cal rifle today.  Bought it as used but no indication it was ever fired.  I find the fit, finish, and wood as good a quality as I could hope for. Action smooth.  Has 28" full octagon barrel excellent bluing, blade sight.  I have the proper 'Creedmore' type tang sight to mount (comes pre-drilled with blind screws).   Will look for the right 'globe' sight.  Bullets enroutefrom TOW.  Hair curling papers (99cent on ebay)and Goex for cartridges.  Best part: under $500!  Bill
