Thanks Bob. Yes everything is done before sinking it. Let it sit in the dye for a couple hours and then dry hanging in the sun. Then oil it with pure neatsfoot.

Thanks again guys.

Dave just do a search on this forum for home made dyes, or walnut dye from black walnut husk. It's very simple to do.

Cliff,
That is a beautifull rig.  The color is great.  For you it may be very simple to do but for me it just doesn't come out looking quite that good.

Thanks for sharing your pics and talent.

Hi Cliff,

Awesome Rig! The color and finishing are beautiful!

Hope to shoot with you at the NCOWS Nationals again.

This is the custom holster that I had Cliff Fendley make for me. It is a close copy of the holster on page 120 of the Packing Iron book. The holster is made in the Mexican Loop pattern by F. A. Meanea Saddlery, Cheyenne Territory. It has a sewn in toe plug and a slight swell between the loops to lock the holster in place. I requested the carving to look approx. like the holster shown on page 112 of the Packing Iron book. The money belt is 3.5 inches wide and has thirty 44 cal. cartridge loops sewn into the belt. I was a little apprehensive of the wide belt, but it's very comfortable and I'm glad I went with the 3.5 inch width.
Cliff does excellent work. I am completely satisfied with the belt and holster. Cliff took notes on what I wanted and made some recommendations. I couldn't be more pleased.   :) :) :)
Way to go Cliff!

I'm really glad you like it Deadeye and you did a super job on those photos.

That holster is kind of a cross between a Moran and a Meanea. Mostly a Cheyenne pattern but comes up higher around the hammer like a Miles City holster. I was a little unsure at the first request but I was very happy with the design once it was done. I'm glad we went with the wider belt too, it goes well with the design IMO.

The more you wear that belt the more comfortable it will get.
