I'm posting this on the NCOWS board, but it also is of interest here.

I'll be looking over this lot sometime next week.

I picked them up today.  Most appear once fired.  I'm keeping the 16ga for myownself.  There's also a good amount of .410ga stuff including paper hulls.  There's a good passle of 12ga paper hulls and many Alcan fiber and cardboard wads.  Also, there are a couple hundred of various and assorted shot shell boxes.  Some may be collectable and others just fun to have.

I'll be sorting and inventorying them in the next week or so.  Then, I'm going to sell them.  I'll be posting on CAS City and other places that are appropriate.  They will be priced to use.

This was quite a find.  Had the pard that found them not acted quickly they would have been in the land fill.  What a waste.

Dick, paper shot shells swell and are hard to eject ... all of the ones I have do ... over a hundred.  Also if you plan to roll crimp them be sure to measure the length of a loaded original in your shotgun for the proper length of paper that needs to be cut off to fit in your chamber.  Otherwise the roll crimp will be buggered, plus be too long to fit in the chamber.  Have found it's best to just star crimp them again and go easy with the crimp pressure so as not to cut the paper

Thanks JB,

It'll be up to the guy that loads them to make sure they fit their shotgun.  We're talkin' old once fired hulls that have been kept in a dry environment.  They are in good condition, mostly.  These are the kind of shot shells that are wanted by period correct Cowboys.  For speedsters like yourself, stick to plastic. ;D

The fiber wads can add to the authenticity of the reloads.  They look like they'll take 209 size primers.  Some Remington ones may want 57* Remington primers.  I'll have to see.
