Curious to see if the 1868 nm rifle will eject the brass.  Also, getting ready to fit the c.f. Block .  These might come in handy for checking lcycle issues.  All I have on hand are origional rf blanks.

If you are going to use Starline brass ,you will have to anneal the cases and fire form them,I have yoused this method in many original spencers and only one had problems with extraction ,which was easly fixed by re tempering and bending the extractor, original Spencers genraly feed much beter than the replicas but do not like the very short OAL cartridges, around 1.6 seems to be a good OAL lenth, rember to get a bullet that holds plenty of lube for the 30 inch barrel, you are going to luve shooting this rifle once you get your loads right

Well, my s&s block and follower came in the mail today.  I will eventually have to do some major grinding to the top as well as the shaft base.  B4 I get out the drimmel tool, it occurred to me I have only chambered blanks, not full size rounds to see if it cycles in origional form. I suppose I could fit a bullet to the blank that I fired  years ago ( I could not resist finding out if they still worked, and it did).

Herbert, I re- slugged the barrel.  This time 1/2 in into the breach, still .515".   I am still leaning toward a .52 mold resizing to .517.  Your thoughts?

For a bullet I bought a mould from Mike Owsiak the makes a .545 bullet for my Original 56/56 carbine and it holds plenty of lube for the trip down the barrel. I have pics of it  in an earlier post. Take a look at the post and see what you think.
