:D  It's a dirty Job, but someone's gotta do it.  I have a couple of the Sharps, as well.  Both are good shooters, and I always have a supply of 22 Shorts on hand.

Now, I am on a British Bulldog kick.  This one in 44 Webley is my favorite.

Back on the subject or derringers, I have this really nice Merrimack Southern Derringer in 41 RF.  It is fun to shoot, though you have to keep feeding it since it is a single shot.  It is in great condition, and shoots well.  That is, it did until the firing blade on the hammer broke off.  Anyone know a place I can pick up a new hammer?

I wish I did.  I need a new hammer for my S&W top brake #2.

Did you check with Numrich parts on line?  I've had luck with them on S&W parts in the past

Picked up a nice FIE D38 and a couple of boxes of .38 Colt short.
Shot it a few times and all seems well, these things do have some stout springs and trigger pull!!!!

FYI:

If someone is looking for one of the vintage Uberti Derringers, there is one for sale on the SASS wire.

I have no connection to the seller, so I have not seen or handled this piece.

Seller has a very enthusiastic starting price, but has already made one price drop.

No kidding!  They are fine derringers, though, and very difficult to find.

I picked on one on Gunbroker recently for almost 1/2 the price he is asking . . . but again, they are nice derringers and sure are hard to find.

I removed the Italian proof marks - left the Uberti markings - and had Jim Downing engrave the flats.

It's beautiful!

I 'stage' the rotating firing pin so that the top left barrel's the first one to fire - that way, I can control the accuracy somewhat.

If you fire it at a standard bull - you get a sort of 'square' pattern.

I had one of those, the trigger guard was so small, I couldn't get my finger in it.
