I am happy that I found this hammered 12/76 from CA.
She works fine but her thickly varnished stock is plain upgly.
Where could I get a non fancy walnut replacement stock that I would fit myself?
Thanks for your suggestions.

Chaparral , that could mean the Mystery Wood with printed grain they use.
or if you're lucky and it's a later in the 1st year production , you can strip the Polyurethane
You may find a pleasing Euro walnut.

Find water soluable stripper, it works great.

when planets align...do the deal !

Well Major, I am shying away from stripping her because I don't like to end up with this cheap wood that looks even uglier than the current red varnished stock.
It's sure some regular wood that has been reddishly varnished. It's not one of those covered with the printed foil.
A pard here has another hammered CA 1878 but his got this oiled stock of cheap & ugly what he bellieves is akacia wood.
