Hi Guys

New member here from Denmark. Quick question about my new uberti 1873 winchester in 32-20. It's new so I'm guessing its a post 2008 manufacture although we tend to get whatever fell of the truck on the way to other countries. I'm stripping it down to smoothen it up and I need to know how to get the bolt apart from the firing pin so I can remove them from the reciever. From what I can see there is a very small hole which shold house a crosspin however I lightly tapped it with a drift and there was no movement. Does the firing pin have to be in the rear position or am I just doing something wrong?

Yours is right around the time Uberti changed how the firing pin extension is held into the bolt head.  Look at the left side of the bolt around the forward link pin.  (The one in the bolt.)   If there is a small metal plate in there you have to remove the link pin and pull the plate out to release the bolt.  If there is no plate and only a small hole in the bolt it is just a straight pin and should come out with little problem.  Sometimes they get a little rusty or dirty, but you should be able to tap it out with a punch and small hammer.

Thanks for the reply. There is a plate there so it must be a post 2008.
