Howdy boys!
Just want to introduce myself---Edwin Anderson is my name and I recently relocated in San Antonio 3 years ago. I'm 28 years old and am a gunmaker. My wife is 21 and a sweetheart, Daniella form the Candelaria family here in town. They go back over 200 years and are influential in the town.
I opened a gun store just down the street from the old plaza, with the help of my in-laws. I do all my work with hand tools, never got used to power machinery for building rifles! I make full stock and half stock heavy barrel hunting rifles for the plains!  ;)

If you have been to San Antonio, you have noticed how it has grown in the past couple of years! Hope you can drop by the shop sometime in the near future!

Hey guys!
That was my persona talking---if I could a been born in any era or lived any place it would have been San Antone during the Republic era of Texas!

Rightr now I live in Lubbock and teach American history to college and high school students. What is real is the gun making, the use of hand tools, and the gorgeous Tejano chic!! ;)

Welcome Quickdraw. The more the merrier. Grab a cup of Arbuckles,  sit a spell by the fire and share a story. I'll be listening while moulding up some round ball.

Thanks boys!!
I have been into BP since I was in junior high. I have done some Cowboy Action (love my open top 44!!) but never got into smokeless----too hard to reload for all the hardware for the shoots when you load BP!!!!

I look forward to doing my front stuffer stuff again!! Made some rifles long ago and would like to do it again!! Will send pix of my Hawkin that I built, and a original Deringer rifle.

When I was a kid, I went down the street to old man Jackson's store----he sold originals and would only charge a set markup for what he got it for. So his store had some really good deals!! I remember the back wall covered with beautiful Kentuckies. He had lots of glass counter space full of Colts Etc!! Like a candy store!!!! I bought a nice Colt Army (to shoot)--almost never fired for $100. A Whitney C&B mint, Trapdoor for $100, bayonet for my 1864 Springf, Rem 1858 unfired-----!!! Too bad he's gone and the store is long gone!!

Texas Lawdog

Quickdraw, I am glad that you have joined our forum. I am a life long Texan and a CAS shooter. I was born in Amarillo, lived in Dumas, and moved to D/FW in 72. I've been to Lubbock many times. I've got a BS in History, but never put it to use. I got into Law Enforcement in 70 and been a cop or deputy sheriff for almost 40 years. I enjoy shooting CAS and Military reenacting.
