By defination, Bourbon has to come from Bourbon County Kentucky.  Otherwise it is sour-mash/corn whiskey.

By the way;  Does is seem strange &/or interesting that a large percentage of the National Congress of Old Whiskey Samplers are Freemasons?

That is not true, in fact I don't think "any" bourbon is made in Bourbon County and in fact very little is even made in what was "Old Bourbon" which pretty much covered most of Kentucky north and east of Lexington. Much of Kentucky bourbon is made in Bardstown area, Nelson county Kentucky and I don't believe that area was even part of the original Bourbon County or the area that was referred too as "old bourbon" after Kentucky became a state and bourbon was divided up in many counties.

I believe Paris is the county seat of Bourbon county and I don't recall any distilleries in that area.

Bardstown is bourbon capital of the world, just a hop skip and a jump from here.

Bourbon is still a product of Kentucky, made with iron free Kentucky spring water naturally filtered through limestone and aged in Kentucky's climate. Just like real Champagne is only made in Champagne region of France, real bourbon is only made in Kentucky.

If the Iowa bourbon was started being produced in July 2010 it hasn't even had time to age in order to be called straight bourbon.

Any good bourbon has aged at least 2 to 3 years. Makers Mark is one of my favorites and is aged for a fairly short duration compared to most of Kentucky bourbon as it is rotated in the warehouse. It is aged for at least four years and seen some reports say it is aged for an average of 6 to 7 years.
