It looks like the 3D scaner program could be loaded into a multi head CNC machine,if the machine was tooled up propery you would get the same results in steel

This technology would be great to produce non firing models for display, as a training aide, or as a prop for a living history event where real firearms would be prohibited. :)

I would think cost is the only problem,if they can make artificial titaniam hips gun parts would be simple

Artificial titanium jaw... though I imagine they might be able to use it for hips, too.    :P

I was watchin' The Box yesterday and saw some Geek inventing a walking robot.  He used a 3 dimensional photocopier to go from contemplation to prototype in one day!  I think the concept of making guns is only a short step away.
