YEEE HAW!!! One down and one to go.

I decided that enough was enough. Doggone it ihave enough trouble shooting SASS without fighting the guns as well. So I sort of slicked up my 7 1/2" EAA Bountyhunter. I took it down right to the frame (about 15 times, I might add) everything that was metal to metal and moved got a mirror polish. The only spring that I messed with was the main spring (hammer spring) and the only reason that I did that was that it took a Godzilla like pull on the hammer to get it to cock.All the other springs I left alone. The hammer cocks very nicely now and I don't have to break a sweat to do it. I reprofiled the hammer too. that was a real bother to me. I could barely reach the hammer spur with my thumb without completely changing my grip on the gun. I lowered it and it is just right for me now. You can see the brfore and after photos here:

I have it's twin brother here too and I'll start on him next. I didn't want to do both at the same time because i wanted one good gun to reference when I put the other back together. Man oh man was that the right decision. All in all I did prety good. The gun works fine and I am happy as a clam with the new gun. I only lost one tiny frame screw and only burned one finger (not bad, didn't even blister) reprofiling the hammer. That's pretty good for me.

It's real inconvenient though. That's the one I use to ................aww, never mind.

I got them both done nowand i can reach the hammers just fine now. Banging on the hammers to get them to bend down left the hammer spur just about smooth. It peened out all of the "checkering". I tried to rescore it using the Dremel tool and I got it REALLY WELL scored, but it looks like ......well, it don't look good. If I ever have to do this again, I'll use a diferent bending method for sure.
