I pretty much doubt it.

An original (I own one) has a much tighter flat spring arrangement, requiring a little effort to push past, and the overall method of grasping the grips consistently - as from an actual holster - can and does vary.

As this one moves so freely - it's an accident waiting to happen.

It might sell their point better if the guy in the video didn't have his finger on the trigger almost as soon a he touched the gun.....every time.

Also, I doubt that it was "favored" by many or it would be much more common.
