Hello SSS,

Attached is copy of a modern tin type photo taken by professional tin type photographer, Mark Richards . Not only is it well constructed, it features an original Model 1865 Spencer Rifle. Mark Richards, as already stated, is a professional tin type photographer and travels around to various events setting up his tin type operation with his wife, Dee.

Mark and Dee are also Cowboy Action Shooters and members of SASS. They are very nice people, polite and soft spoken, and both in their mid-60's.  They live in a remote section of the Southern Tier of New York State and have no access to a computer. Mark says if they want to get electricity they have to rub two cats together!

Mark wanted to be credited as the tin type artist, who took the photo appearing below. His phone number is 585-973-3450 in the event anyone would like to arrange for a photo session.

Now, about the photo:  The photo is actually titled "Marshall Sandy Steel and the Well Hung Capt. Lester Thomas", the SASS names of the two individuals in the photo. Marshall Steel is holding a Model 1876 Winchester.  And apparently, Capt. Thomas owned a Spencer Rifle with feeding problems ::) ::)

Two Flints - they probably don't pay you enough for finding these Spencer things....you should demand a raise! Or at least a 56-56 rifle owned by a Wilder's Brigade member...maybe the guy in the photo you posted earlier!

Please keep up the good work and thanks from all of us

I hope they didn't lay away the deceased with those nice boots still on him. 'Waste not want not.'
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.
