I don't see why you had to put them greek words on there"

"By God Woodrow, I've told you before, it ain't GREEK, it's LATIN."

"What's it say then?"

"It's a motto, it says itself..."

"You ain't got any idea what it says! Hell, for all you know it could be an invitation for people to rob us!"

"As far as I'm concerned any man who can read Latin is welcome to rob us. I'd like the chance to shoot at an educated man for once in my life."

what does his MOTTO say ??? translation

Russ T, you were right again but in keeping with the movie characters it was LTC Thursday to Lt O'Rourke about his daughter Philadelphia seeing the soldier spread eagled and burned on the wagon wheel.

Here's another for you: "Whatever else he is, he's a good judge of horses."

The first was John Wayne (LTC Kirby Yorke) when Ben Johnson (Trooper Tyree) runs off on his horse to flee a warrent from Texas for murder.
I think it was to Victor McLaglan (Sgt. Quincannon) but not sure without watching it again.

Something similar was implied at the end of the movie.

Which movie is this? It's not Tye a Yellow ribbon same characters and actors though ???

Russ T if you can't get it none of these other slow pokes will. The quite was from Stagecoach, JW's first A movie in a title role. It was near the end of the movie just before the gunfight. Rigo (JW's character) asked Dixie (the woman run out of town by the ladies of the community) to marry him, but she didn't respond. Hence the quote.

You know you're right Russ T. Man I must be getting old. I'm not a young whipersnapper like you. They say the minds the first to go. Can't remember what goes next. Anyway, I owe you an apology so "I apologize". Will try not to make that mistake again.

Marvin (Tully Crow) to Wayne (Capt Jake Cutter) just before the poker game with Stuart Whitman (Mon-sewer Paul Regret).  Resulted in Marvin's departure from the rest of the movie.

Russ T, you ought to be world famous. The Comancheros was a good movie. Lots of folks don't know it was the last movie Michael Curtiz ever directed. He was the director of Casablanca.
