Howdy:

Looking for info on this.  What folks have done and the overall results in their experience.  I have seen several Original 58 Remingtons at various gun shows and it appears that the areas for the caper to slide in/out are larger and squared off.  Don't know if that was a later adaptation or an original feature.

Any info/experience would be certainly appreciated.

I've managed to get the nipples out of 4 of my cylinders. . . . a tread about that also . . .and picked up grinders at H. Depot yesterday.

Just out of curiosity, (meaning not for your knowledge but for mine [as in forgive me, but I am just learning]), but wouldn't new cylinders from Dixie Gun Works or some such be cheaper (than buying grinders at Home Depot)?

WaddWatson. . . I'm refering to grinders to put on my electric drill to grind out the nipple openings.

However . . . I ground one out and it was so time consuming that I'm waiting for fellow who owns a machine shop to show up here at the Ranch.   He needs some carpentry work done on the building that he is constructing here on the ranch and I figure to trade off some carpentry work for him having one of his employees machine out the rest of the nipple recesses.
