Thanks for the link, Bill. I read Kane's Journal many years ago when I was researching the Metis buffalo hunters, but all I can remember from the book are B/W prints. Nothing in color, and not much about the man, either. We owe a lot to people like this, who left a record in both picture and the written word on what they saw and experienced.
