Duke, I think there are several tobe had.  At one time Tandyhad packs that I thought advertised shotgun style included.  Prettysure you can get a shotgun pattern thats included in the Dusty Johnson Making Chaps Video.

try Bob Klenda saddlery and also cow camp saddlery...I have purchased several chap pattern packs from both of these guys.  Bob Klenda is a Al Stohlman Award winner and usually advertises in the Leathecraft & Saddlers Journal.

Most stuff I've seen at tandy has been out since 1970 as looks more like something Roy Rogers would wear. The best thing Tandy has ever done is pick up Wills pattern.
I guess I should have stated period correct chaps but thanks though Bob.

Hey Duke
What do you mean "periode correct". Which time is it??? 1870, 1880, 1890, 1900, later????
In nearly each year and region they use different patterns. Belongs to the region the saddlerys are from. Do you have a pic of a pair you are interrested in??

So long

I too have been looking for a 1880's period chap pattern. It appears that everything out there is of the more modern style. aka Tandy type (which I have and have used).  I checked out the sites mentioned above and they look like the Tandy type as well with the low buckled front.  If someone offered an original chap pattern for sale, I'd certianly buy it.

That'll work! Anything other than what came out of that
Hollywood Film Actors Guild in the 50's and then on or that Roy Rogers looking stuff.
