Yep I am in LOVE !! These boomers ROCK !!
Now I am searching for that old schofield mould that I have . It throws 235 flat point boolit. I will load this up with all the black powder I can stuff in the schofiled  case and that 235 boolit.
Todays load hit with authority and made a good group. I had people from down on the skeet range trying to see  what I was shooting. BOOOM !!!. ;D ;D

Also got to shoot my 10 gauge . It weights a ton and is a ton of FUN to shoot.

Pards if you like BP and BOOOMING   the Schofiled  and FFG is something to look into.  BOY, OH BOY , OH BOY come on shooting season.

I do have some 45 Colt  rounds loaded up with 250 gr  big lube and full case of FFG. But for pistol the schofiled is it for me.

Later Mason ;D

Mason, what are you loading in your 10g?  I find 120 gn of FF makes plenty of BOOOOOOM, lotsa Smoke, gobs of Fire and the Stink is just great.  As a bonus it also gets the RO and spotters coughing too. ;D

Courage is being scare as heck and still getting in the saddle.

WW - I found that in my 2-5/8 shells - i just have enough space for the card and glue with a 100 grain load with squared shot load.

Now I suppose I could cut the fiber wad in half to get more in:)!

Them 120 grain loads make boom and copious smoke and shake the v ery ground we shoot on - which is a bonus:)!

A pair of schofield Open tops would look awesome booming away in your gunfighter style!

WAHOOOOOOOOOO YEHAWWWWWWW

Go for it.  There is nothing like the thunder of a .45 Colt loaded to the gills with BP.  The concussion does make the ground quake.
Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.

I wouldn't call the Smith and Wesson Schofield model an 'open top'. It is a hinged frame revolver.

Steel Horse Bailey

While not fitting the classic "Open Top" definition, it does open at the top!

I do believe the gentlemen was refering to his open top revolvers chambered in .45 Schofields.

I only shoot about 70 grs in the 10 gauge. I have loaded them up .( i have some 3 inch hulls) oh mercy to much kicking LOL
70 gr with those long barrels will take down the shotgun targets with ease and leave some of my vertebrae in place. LOL

I use the Brown Federal hulls. ;D

My load goes into a 2 7/8 brass case.  With 32" barrels the kick is not bad.   ;D

WW they definitely go BOOM!

I was talking about OT's in 45 schofield not the schofield pistol.
