OK, I made a quick and dirty presentation using my own picture. This is just to show you what I had in mind. I know My uniform and reference picture are not right but you shoudl be able to get the basic idea. With better documentaion and a better uniform than my own I think it could be really useful for new members.

I think it could be expanded to show every detail and fine point to help new people get it right from the start.

Let me know what you think (and if you can view the presentation)

I am not sure. I think so. I will play with downloading it and then uploading it to photobucket.

OK, that was really good I thought.

Maybe if it can then we could do some thoers.  Might have to make you part of the Signal Corps. ;D

Bring your camera to the DOM Muster if you make it.

Do others think this has value? I would be willing to do one more thoroughly and accurately than this little test one if I get a nice clear photo of someone.

It cannot be put up to photobucket but I can host as many as I want with my Prezi account. We would just need to provide links to them of the GAF website.

Looking forward to meeting you.  I am starting to do some thinking and planning on the meals.  (Read that as watching for bargins to put in the freezer.)  I need to make a bunch of hardtack in case anyone gets hungry between meals.  Do you want it with or with out weevils? ;D

I've also heard rumors I'm expected to make beef and noodles again, the troops seem to like it for the noon meal:

(See how nice having pictures handy can be when promoting the GAF can be.  ;D)

Uuuhhh, I would like biscuits rather than hardtack. Soaked in bacon fat and wrapped in a cloth rag-that's a traditional lunch right there! Or maybe some of that Czechoslovakian rye bread or....well, anything you make is probably good-even the hardtack I'm sure! :D

I've heard a lot about yer chicken fried steaks but haven't had a chance to sample one yet.  Keep an eye out fer sausage - we'll need biscuits & gravy at least one mornin' - & don't ferget that little Turkish coffee boiler.  ;D

You gonna make it up on Thursday pard, the CFS is a good one for that supper.

And have Ibrik will travel, I will hit the local hookah, coffee and belly dancing video emporium for the makings. ;)

We'll load Hopalong up well before we send him out on guard duty, I'd hate to see him shot for falling asleep on duty, that will take care of the problem. :o

Sausage is already taken care of, Mustang Greg will be back from his trip to the far reaches of the world with his helly-copter.  He won't be able to make it but he will gift us with some of his own that him and his dad makes.  We had it at the 2009 Muster, good stuff.  Besides that would be a local item from Sargent if we had to, that's where it came from last year.

Thats the idea, at Jerry's events you can come for the food and have the bonus of being able to shoot if you want. ;D

I have a fair amount of primitive cooking equiptment from my other reenacting days. I have a spit, tripod, grill, kettles etc. Do you want me to bring anything along?

Oh don't bring that if it's the kind with a crank you turn by hand-I'm the only Private and I'll get the job of turning the spit with  some critter Del's got slow roasting!

You can if you want but I shouldn't need anything, I have more than "The General" will haul anyway.

Del:

Things are pretty slow tonight, so I am checking out the GAF on CAS City.
Yep, I have a load of black pepper/sage breakfast pork sausage made up for the Muster in the deep freeze.  It is a traditional farm recipe we still use.  I will have some mulberry jelly to go on the excellent buscuits you bake.
And I should have a couple bottles of Bohemian (mulberry and watermelon) wine for the evening after supper desert, if you'd like.
GB offered his farm-raised hen and duck eggs too.

We would love the eggs and I'm sure some would enjoy the wine.  I wonder if we got Buffalo Bill to write the Governor if we could get you a note excusing you? ;) ;D

Dang I was looking forward to sharing food and coffee with you again, it's been way to dang long.
